Trois ans après Barry Baltus, la Belgique aura en 2022 un nouveau représentant en Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. Lorenz Luciano, membre de la Belgian Motorcycle Academy, a été sélectionné pour participer à la prochaine saison. La récompense de deux saisons pleines de succès en Northern Talent Cup (NTC), un championnat réservé aux jeunes pilotes d’Europe centrale et du nord.
Engagé en 2020 avec le Junior Black Knights Team, Lorenz Luciano a brillé d’entrée de jeu, terminant vice-champion de la première édition de la NTC. Il s’est à nouveau classé deuxième cette saison, avec sept podiums dont quatre victoires au compteur. Place désormais à l’étape suivante.
La Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup est une rampe d’accès vers les Grands Prix moto. Les meilleurs pilotes se voient régulièrement proposer des places en mondial.
